There is always something for the month of February. The month of love, chocolates, roses, scented candles, gifts and much more.
Personally, I am a cake girl. I love sweet snacks and I can’t seem to get enough.
Now, these snacks do not always comply with my weight loss journey, a substitute had to be found.
Speaking of which, I understand that I am not alone in having a sweet tooth and wanting to have a perfect toned body all at once. It is every lady’s dream come true.
So you are probably excited for the valentine’s day right? But you have no idea on what treats you should be snacking on while still in check with your weight loss journey?
Well, whether you are single or in a relationship, on a budget or willing to spend it all, here are some easy, fun-filled ideas that will help make this valentine’s day interesting. Enjoy!!
So before jumping right into the ideas, it is best to understand that, having a little cake, some chocolates, some sweets and pastries is not bad at all.
Even if you want to go all-in during this specific day you can but remember portion is key.
A caloric deficit is the mother of a successful fat loss journey.
For those who prefer to stick to being restrictive while having fun at the same time, here are the treat ideas:
1. Almond Pancakes
Almonds are nuts that are great and full of nutritional value. You must have heard of Almond milk and almond flour. They are all products of the almond nuts.
What you will need:
- 1 cup of Almond flour
- 1 cup of Almond milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1 spoon of Butter
- Few drops of Vanilla essence
- 1 spoon of Stevia
- In a large bowl put the almond flour and eggs and mix
- Add the almond milk and mix
- Melt some butter and put it in the mixture and stir well
- Add a few drops of vanilla essence and the stevia and stir everything up into a paste as desired.
- Into a pan place a small amount of the mixture on the pan and let it cook
- Flip to the other side once it is done.
- Once it’s all cooked, serve and sizzle some honey on top of the pancakes
- Add some chopped strawberries to add to the season’s mood
Serves: 2 persons

Depending on your measurements
If you want to be a little bit extra, you can go ahead and obtain a darling shaped pancake by simply using a heart-shaped metal outliner.
2. Fruit Kabobs
Kabobs are assorted fruits, veggies, or meat on a skewer. They are usually grilled but it is rare for fruits.
You will need:
- Red fruits such as watermelon, red berries and cherry tomatoes
- Other berries
Cut the pieces of red fruits in any shape you like. It could be diced or outlined into a heart shape and arrange them in a skewer.
3. Strawberry smoothie
Strawberries are low in calories and are the best fit for a sweet tooth.
You will need:
- Frozen berries of choice
- Frozen strawberry
- 1 frozen banana
- Dice all the fruits
- Add stevia to taste
Servings: 2 persons

4. Dark chocolate coated strawberries
Chocolate is known to be sweet and nutritious at the same time. So here is the catch, there is milk chocolate and dark chocolate. The healthy one which is the dark chocolate contains over 85% cocoa while the milk chocolate one is less of the 85%. So there you have it. If you are selecting chocolate to be sure, select the dark chocolate over the milk one. Note that not all dark chocolates are a healthy catch. There are some with as low as 44% cocoa which are not what we are going for.
You will need:
Strawberries and dark chocolate of any amount you would like.
- In a saucepan melt the amount of dark chocolate you want to take a dip.
- Using skewers or a spoon insert strawberries into the dip and coat them well
- Garnish with honey or syrup of any sort and freeze

5. Heart-shaped watermelon
We want to have fun, be creative and eat healthily. So this is one of my easy favourite treats.
It only involves watermelon and a heart-shaped outliner.
Has low calories as well since it only contains watermelon and you can sizzle any syrup of your choice to make it tasty
Happy Valentine’s to everyone, whether single, in a relationship or married. You can always be creative with red fruits and play around with chocolate to make more healthy recipes.
